The 8-th Europediatrics Congress jointly held with The 13 National Congress of Romanian Pediatrics Society will be held in Bucharest, Romania. The history of the city has always been written by both Romanians and foreigners, who lived in it or only passed by. Called Dimbovita’s fortified town”, built on Dimbovita’s banks, Bucharest was the voivodal headquarter and then the capital city for the past 500 years. Its rich architecture and cultural life brought Bucharest the nickname of “Little Paris” at the beginning of the 20th century. Bucharest proved to be one of the most important places in the Southeast of Europe, most populated, rich and forward thinking.

What can be more interesting than a city which gathers together Orient and Occident, North and South, a city that speaks through its architecture - to all its visitors in their language? Hungarians, Greeks, Turks, Germans, Frenchmen, Russians, Americans, and so many more people from the four corners of the world.

The Palace of Parliament - The International Conference Centre, Bucharest, Romania will host the 8^th Europaediatrics Congress in 2017

Built by Communist Party leader, Nicolae Ceausescu, the colossal Parliament Palace (formerly known as the People's Palace) it took 20,000 workers and 700 architects to build.

The Palace measures 275m by 235m, 86m high, and 92m underground. It has 1,100 rooms, 2 underground parking garages and is 12 stories high, with four additional underground levels including an enormous nuclear bunker. Total area of 365,000sqm.

The Palace of Parliament it is the world's second-largest office building in surface (after the Pentagon) and the third largest in volume (after Cape Canaveral in the U.S. and the Great Pyramid in Egypt).

When construction started in 1984, the dictator intended it to be the headquarters of his government. Today, it houses Romania's Parliament and serves as an international conference centre. Built and furnished exclusively with Romanian materials, the building reflects the work of the country's best artisans.

English is the official language of the congress. No simultaneous translations will be provided.

European Accreditation

The 8th Europediatrics Congress jointly held with The 13 National Congress of Romanian Pediatrics Society' is designated for up to' 20 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. The EACCME credit system is based on 1 ECMEC per hour with a maximum of 3 ECMECs for half a day and 6 ECMECs for a full-day event.

American Medical Association (AMA)

Through an agreement between the European Union of Medical Specialists and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Information on the process to convert EACCME credit to AMA credit can be found at www.ama-assn.org/go/internationalcme

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity:

TO RECEIVE YOUR CME/CPD CERTIFICATE 

The CME/CPD certificate will be available after completing the online evaluation and credit claiming procedure. The process takes about 5 minutes. Your feedback as it is an important part of CME/CPD accreditation and helps improve future educational offerings.

The online evaluation form will be reachable on the congress website https://www.europaediatrics2017.org   together with the credit claim form, between June 15 and December 15 2017.

Currency and credit cards

The currency in Romania is LEI (RON).

1 EURO is currently worth about 4.50 LEI (RON) – available on June 2016.

Major credit cards are accepted by most hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, and shops.

Climate and clothing

Romania has a moderate, continental climate. The average temperature in June is between 20-30°C. Although rainy and windy days may occur, appropriate clothing is recommended.

Passports and visa requirements

For residents of EU Member States and USA no visa is required.
Residents of other countries, please contact the Embassy/Consulate of Romania in your country to get information about visa requirements.
The organizing Secretariat is not responsible for obtaining visas and does not provide financial support letter or invitation letter.

Liability and insurance

Delegates and exhibitors are advised to take out adequate insurance cover against any risk of loss, damage, injury or liability before traveling to the Congress. Neither the Congress Organizers, nor its contractors shall accept liability for personal injury or loss/damage to property and belongings of delegates during the conference or their stay in Bucharest.
